Do you know of some cool tools or resources to help you build online collaboration between the teachers/staff in your school?
Magazines
For starters, Teresa mentioned the names of some magazines and someone else asked where she could find them. Here are the ones Teresa mentioned....plus a few of my favorites:
- Edutopia - from the George Lucas Foundation for education. MY FAVORITE! (One of my students did a web page about George Lucas for a class project and that's how I learned about GLEF.) This is my all time favorite magazine because it represents true technology integration. Why? Because the focus is not on technology, but on meaningful education, and it just so happens that technology is usually a tool which enhances this type of education in some form or another. (Also available in print)
- eSchool News Online: Ed-Tech Insider - This site always covers the latest topics in the news regarding technology in education as well. Also, whenever there is a big technology conference, such as NECC coming up in a couple weeks in Atlanta, there will be correspondents reporting back daily to eSchool News and it goes online right away. Our own FETC had correspondents reporting to this online magazine. (Also available in print)
- Technology & Learning Magazine - This is the link to the online version called techLearning.com, but the magazine is also available in print. Click on the Subscribe link.
- Converge - Technology issues in education are discussed monthly. (Available in pdf or in print.)
- Multimedia & Internet @School - The Media and Technology Specialists' Guide to Electronic Tools and Resources for K12 Education
- American School Board Journal: Technology Focus (occasional)
- EdTechMag - Launched in March 2003, the quarterly magazine is developed for administrators, teachers, technology instructors, technology coordinators and technology managers at individual schools and school districts nationwide.
- T.H.E. Journal -
